Found this poor little baby outside alone in the cold, now she’s warm, has a full belly and is happy as can be. Meet Chia.

  1. It makes me so sad to think that there is actually poor animals on the street right now. Like, I wish I could just take them all in.

  2. Question: how do you know that this isnt someone’s cat who got out (or was let out)? It looks very well cared for for a stray.

  3. It just breaks my heart these animals are just alone. We have to do something about spaying them.

But this little fur baby has a happy life now thanks to you!

  4. Did you check to see if she’s microchipped? Asking because I used to always have indoor/outdoor cats and I lost mine a few years ago. Literally lost, I have no idea if he died, someone stole him, or what happened.

I would hate for someone’s pet to have escaped/wandered too far and someone else took them in without checking.

  5. That’s how I got my little grey tabby 15 years ago. Found a kitten in the freezing cold temps crying outside my front door. She ran away at first, but I set out food and she was back the next night. Grabbed her and brought her in, and she’s been my little drooling, kneading, barfing master ever since.

  6. She is adorable but definitely check for a microchip. Our neighbor just lost their cat who looks almost identical to this girl. She was an indoor cat who got out and so she didn’t have a collar. They have been losing their minds trying to find her.

  7. How do people take in strays? I’ve never owned a pet, am allergic to cats, but wonder how you do it safely. If the cat is feral, or even just scared from living rough, aren’t you afraid they’ll claw and bite you? Or go nuts once they’re “trapped” indoors? And what if they have fleas/lice/disease/etc? There’s a cat that occasionally hangs out in or near my apartment building’s dumpster and I feel bad for it and don’t know what to do. Once it lept out of the dumpster as I put a bag in and scratched my arm as it ran off. Another time I saw it hiding in the shadows as I got close and wouldn’t stick around as I tried to approach it. I called my local cat clinic and they said if I report it to animal control they’ll trap the cat and put it to sleep! 😭 Winter’s almost here and I feel so bad for the cat.
