My grandmother worked in a school cafeteria in the 50s. She would always tell the story about how they had to paint the lines on the burgers. I mean I’m assuming it was with something edible, but it was the 50s, so who knows.
Fun fact: in many of these corporate chain restaurants like Applebee’s and so on, they don’t cook much of their food from scratch. Rather, they buy it *mostly* cooked from a food service place or corporate kitchen, pull it out of a bag, and cook it the last few minutes.
Things that are supposed to be grilled already have grill marks on them that were quickly seared on by a device made to do that.
I just enjoy the way sharpie tastes, really opens up the airways.
