  1. That is Steve Faulconbridge, one of the guides presenting with WildEarth, an incredible live safari experience filmed every single day. Moments like these are rare, but so exciting. Imagine seeing this live!!!

  2. Note how he walks backwards and doesn’t show them his backside, which is a sure way to get a big cat to charge. Definitely knows what he’s doing.

  3. Don’t be fooled, while the guide’s body language may seem disciplined and practiced to avoid further escalation through posturing… he’s really just hiding the fact he soiled himself.

  4. This is the exact response when facing a predator. Slowly back away facing it.
When facing prey (rhino, hippo, buffalo) just run. Turn and run.
Predators won’t hunt you if you don’t act like prey, and these guys were napping, so not exactly prowling and hungry. Large prey animals only defense mechanism is size and power. If they see you as a threat, they will charge you, and they will kill you.

  5. “These must be the freshest tracks I’ve seeing in a while…😨 Oh! Don’t mind me here, I was just walking back this way.”
